John Mueller, Owner - Laketown Speed and Sound

John Mueller is a seasoned leader in the mobile electronics industry, with over 35 years of experience driving growth, building teams, and developing successful businesses. He began his career in 1991 managing Performance Sound in Salt Lake City, where his leadership fueled rapid sales growth and expansion to multiple locations. In 2001, John founded Laketown Speed and Sound in Draper, Utah. Navigating the challenges of a post-9/11 economy by hiring, training, and mentoring individuals with little or no prior experience, his focus has been to create a "Dream Team" of next generation 12v professionals that are well trained, highly motivated and able to navigate the rigors of a modern 12v marketplace. His people-first approach and clear vision have resulted in low turnover and a thriving organization that has endured for more than 25 years. Beyond business, John brings a deep commitment to music, creativity, and service. He served for eleven years as a member of the world-renowned Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square, performing internationally before millions. A lifelong music enthusiast and early pioneer of snowboarding in Utah, John is also a proud parent of five children—three of whom have worked at Laketown Speed and Sound. Looking ahead, he plans to further his musical journey by pursuing a master’s degree and Doctorate in music composition and screen scoring.
