Steve Turrisi (Regional Product Training Manager):

Garmin’s Regional Product Training Manager, Steve Turrisi has over 35 years of 12-volt experience. Steve’s mobile electronics career began on the sales floor with the famed Speaker Warehouse in South Florida. After Speaker Warehouse, Steve transitioned to JL Audio’s Technical Support department. In nearly 30 years with JL Audio and now Garmin, Steve has held positions in technical support, training, international sales, currently holds the title of Regional Product Training Manager, while also playing key roles in TüN® Software development.
Steve has also contributed to the MECP Installer Study Guides and currently holds NMEA certifications in Basic Marine Installation and NMEA 2000®.

Matt Mergenthal (Regional Training Specialist):

Matt Mergenthal was introduced to car audio by family members with JL Audio systems in their vehicles. He purchased his first JL Audio amplifier and subwoofer when he was 14, before owning a vehicle. At 16, Matt started installing car audio systems for his friends before making it a career at the age of 19. Starting with Best Buy, Matt later moved to a local independent retailer and JL Audio dealer in his home state of New Jersey. In September 2017, Matt was hired by JL Audio and worked in the R&D Department where he helped design and build company demo vehicles, worked on Stealthbox® development and became the department’s DSP system tuner. Matt transitioned to the JL Audio Training Team in February 2022 and brings vast installation, measurement and DSP tuning knowledge.
